1 "Lost Without U" has been the No. 1 Urban AC song since January. Thicke, 29, is the first white male to top that chart since Jon B. in 1995.

2 Yes, Growing Pains' Alan Thicke is his dad — but don't forget that soap star (Days of Our Lives) and singer Gloria Loring (''Friends & Lovers'') is his mom. Or, do forget it. "If people know your parents before they know you, they might not give you the same shot on the first date."

Robin Thicke, son of actor Alan Thicke and singer/soap star Gloria Loring, has just become the first white man since George Michael to reach the top of Billboard’s R&B chart, thanks to his current smash hit, "Lost Without U."

The single, from his gold-certified sophomore solo album "The Evolution of Robin Thicke," is also the most requested video at MTV and VH1, his label states. "Evolution," coincidentally, is the No. 1 album on Billboard's R&B Top 100 Albums chart and No. 6 on the Top 200 Albums chart.

Al Gore, the former vice president and now hit documentary maker, on Thursday added rock promoter to his resume, announcing plans for a 24-hour concert series on all seven continents to highlight, you guessed it, the dangers of global warming.

The SOS campaign was founded by Kevin Wall, the producer behind the Live 8 global concerts in 2005 that raised money for Africa.

Wall said that these performers had already signed up: Pharrell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, Lenny Kravitz, Bon Jovi, Paolo Nutini, Sheryl Crow, AFI, Melissa Etheridge, John Mayer, Damien Rice, Corrine Bailey Rae, Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy, Mana, Keane, Kelly Clarkson, Korn, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Ray LaMontagne, Robin Thicke, and Kenna.
